I hope to find some tomorrow! I'm going after the only place I could find that is officially uncharted by the government, yet it has a gold mine within 4km North, South East & West of it. Todays news might be very good. Or it might mean other people might be there for the same reason.

That might explain my interest in upgrading to an X-Terra 70. Still got to find the time to get out there though. Actually, I only found out a few days back, that a mining company has located gold only about 25kms from my front door. If this keeps up, then I might be able to walk to the gold fields.

yeah a company is talking about putting one about an 1/8 mile up the road from my folks place, and Kennecott is talking about 7 others there, another is talking on about a half hour north of me, they are all waiting on Kennecott's approval on a nickle/copper mine , 2 of 3 agency's have giving approval for Michigan's new tougher mining laws

Yeah great, but greed has also kicked in.
The local buyers over here in OZ used to take 10% from an ounce, then the price went up and bingo 15% and now we are around the magical $1000 Aussie an ounce they now take 20%. Thats $200 in every $1000 for doing nothing. They then turn around and sell it to overseas customers at around 100% profit on the original $1000 an ounce meaning they make $1200 and the hunter seller $800. They say "we will give you 10% above for nice bits". But take anything to them, even one that looks like Mickey mouse drinking a VB and they will say "nah thats just scrap mate, less 20%" Take them one that lokks like the space shuttle discovery "scap mate".
So, when I "have to sell to pay bills" and have not got the time for serious reasons to hunt up a proper buyer i throw it all in my dolly pot, jewelry bits and all, and smash the living daylights out of it all turning it into little golden pancakes. The buyers want to give scrap price then they get scrap gold. I suggest anyone does this to unscrupulous buyers who refuse to play the game right and when you have no other option.

What does this mean for the dollar, not worth what it used to be and dropping. Oil keeps climbing, the world bank is getting rich and the American people are going down the tubes.....

Although I don't hunt for gold, I did ring up Peter W Beck pty ltd a couple of years back, that advertise in Gem and treasure, and they were offering the same price as the price of gold is on the commodities market at the time. Regardless of weather it came in the form of coins, rings or nuggets. perhaps they might be worth a try.
