I just had to go detecting for a couple of hours this afternoon...

[Vernon in Virginia~Formerly Alaska]

I told myself that I was going to detect until I found something from the Civil War or I would be jabbed in the eye with a sharp stick.

I finally found a CW bullet and a flat button, sparing me the pain and embarrassment of running around with a eye-patch. The button has a little star on the back and some writing but was unable to make it out even after scrubbing if with Ajax and a soft brass brush.
