how do i set ground balance in auto track and how will know it its done properly? i think im really gonna like this metal detector. thanks CladKing

I set the auto trac on then find a clean area then pump the coil up and down 3 to 4 inches while pulling the trigger about 3 times and you should be good to go. and here is no thinking you are going to like this detector, you will love it, set the discrimination in the nickle range swing it slow and listen, if it sounds good dig it, I am impressed with this detector. and I am sure we will be seeing some future posts for sure. good luck

I don't think the pulling the trigger part is correct. The manual says that you should simply be sure to set the trigger to the center "search" position while ground balanceing.

The machine balances so fast there isn't a need to pump the coil. It will be balanced in a few seconds simply swinging the coil. Now if your intending to "lock" the gb from the get go then you can find a clean spot in the pinpointing mode. Then release the trigger and pump the coil a few times from about 1 inch up to 10 or so. Then flip it to lock. Just remember to re ground balance ever so often and/or when you move away from a spot. Or if the ground color changes etc.... I suggest just starting out to stick it in auto and start swinging. I have had five M6's and never had any issues with them.

I believe that you are right, but it was hard to conceive that a trigger pull wasn't needed for reading the ground(all metal.) Apparently it is though. I do find that the M6 is quicker to work it's best if I set to Auto, and I find a relatively clean spot and pump the coil 2-3 inches from the ground until all metal responses are totally gone from the display. martin
