I just don't know how that little 6" DD coil does it.

I bought my X-70 used(but like-new), and got the stock coil AND a 6" 18.75 DD coil with it. The former owner told me that I would be amazed at the depth of that little coil. Being from the "old school", I always believed in the old "circumferential convex" theory that a small coil meant shallow, but better target isolation, and a big coil meant deeper targets with poorer target isolation. These theories have been true with the old machines I used to hunt with(and of course they still are, to a certain extent). But DARN!!. That little 6" DD coil is totally AMAZING on depth. How in the hell does it do it??? If any of y'all have thought about getting one for trashy areas, DO it! But you will be shocked at the depth you will get from that little 'toy" coil. I think I'm gonna leave it on my machine.

can't wait to try it for myself --- from the looks of things outside, that might be around June or July....................LOL:ranting:

I have had mine for a year and half and only took it off once. I have found several dimes in the 5" to 6"range.

The weather has been horrible here, too. Can't dig in anything but mud, and they're calling for snow tonight. If you have one of those coils, go ahead and put it on your machine and air-test it. That will get you pumped-up for a break in the weather....

Sounds like it's made a believer out of you, too! And with Rheumatoid Arthritis, swinging it has been a blessing for me.

Have both the 10.5" DD and a 6" DD coil, but it's the 6" DD coil that gets the most use on my detector. Probably because many of the areas I hunt are very trashy and nothing in the X-T line of coils picks coins out of trash better than their 6" DD coils do and it seems to only have a little less depth than the larger coils (at least in my area). It is also amazing in the fact that you can go back over a trashy area which you have already hunted out with the stock coil and match it's total finds using the 6" DD coil, coin for coin. Do like the 10.5" DD coil for the wide open spaces and deeper targets.

I have RA, too! Mine is getting worse. Hardfer to get a good night's sleep any more, but anyway, you're right about that little coil allowing us to continue hunting more.

I bought a used 10.5" coil a while back, but haven't even tried it yet. I hunt alot of fields for CW relics. Heck, I'm not sure if I can swing the big coil much with Rheumatoid arthritis.
