his wife is in the hospital. We only got about 3-4 inches over night but just as I finished the drives it started coming down pretty hard. Gonna be a snowy day for sure

I was watching the news and saw that ya had some of that "white stuff" coming!!:heh:

It is going to be in the high 80's here today!!!

There was about 4 inches on the ground when we went to our blinds at 6:00 am. When we came out there was another 2-3 inches plus a good coating of ice. It took us over an hour to drive the 2 miles out the logging trails to the road because so many trees were either bent over due the weight, or had broken and fallen across the road. Of course we only had a little hand saw to cut the fallen trees to clear the road. :( The it was a 5 hour drive back home as the expressways were horrible. Winter, you gotta love it! :D

As usual, lovely picture Nim:thumbup:

Up to about 2-3 weeks ago, there was no sign anywhere of deer around the valley. Now that we have the snow on the ground, there are tracks and sign everywhere. The lower end of our property looks like a deer freeway.

Snow brought them down from the hills

juniper and hemlock stand. I go up after the storm and the bed is clear to the leaves pretty often, then that night or next day, tracks every where like you have.
Next snow I will take the camera out. Looks like you would get trampled to death. No nice mountains here to drive them down from, just better winter food stations. Here they are pretty much nocturnal, at least the smart ones are. Day time, never hear them moving about, night time, sounds like a thousand of them moving around. Had some jerk down in our lower field by the road last night about 3:00am jacking them. I just happened to be up and saw them lighting up the field. Jumped in the jeep and whipped down there. They took off to a waiting truck up on the road. Worry more about the horses than the deer. But they don't go there much this time of year. Nothing there now. More food at the barn.... Its mild here today, at 50 right now, but going back to the teens tonight and rest of the week with predicted snow for weekend. I'm liking this bare ground. Your post on your 3 hour plowing out job reminded of whats ahead.
