I can't wait to try it out.:)

Enjoy your new Eldorado Umax. I went and pulled the trigger today and also bought me a new Vaquero:thumbup:

I have one and intend it to be a permanent resident in my arsenal. The Eldorado is a great detector IMHO.

Hey, BB do you remember what Montes preference was as to bandido umax/vs bandido ii. or eldorado...
and such.....?

Enjoy your Eldorado as most of us do, it does seem to be one of the more favorite Tesoro units.
Try hunting in all metal when you get a target try and figure out what it is in your head, then switch to disc. mode set at just above iron.
See how much the tone changes. After while you will get better at determining what the target is using this method. It's almost like using a 2 tone machine.
Get the 5.75" concentric coil and you'll be all set.

What kind of depth are you getting with the 9" x 8" and 5.75" coils?

Depth is is only relative to your soil conditions, what I get here can be totally different from what you will get.
I did post some air tests recently. The 5.75 is almost as deep as the 9x8. See earlier posting.
I had no problem hitting a penny at 6-7" and a Canadian Loonie at 9" at the beach last year in all metal mode.
disc mode is always going to be less in most cases.

It has been said in some soil conditions it goes almost as deep as the Tejon and in certain soil conditions handle
it much better.

You have a great detector, go out and use it, you'll be happy with the depth

Not for certain, but I remember he's had a quite favorable opinion of the Eldorado in several of his posts.

Please do not dirty up my machine by placing his name nowhere near my El Dorado.....I will now go desanitize my machine after reading that..

I got my Eldorado delivered today. It's one sweet machine.

I took it for a test run in the park and it's everything I thought and hoped it would be.

It's smooth running, light and has a super fast response. Pinpointing in the discrimination mode is a breeze.

In a half day of hunting I found 88 coins and a silver chain. 34 quarters, 34 dimes and 20 copper pennies.

I was mostly going back over areas that I've already hunted hard. I can't wait to take it out to some virgin ground.

Like my Compadre, it doesn't make a lot of racket with false signals. When the Eldorado sounds off, it's locked onto something good.

Tesoro makes great detectors. It's a keeper.

Then why don't you still have it? Also, what replaced it? I'm guessing outlaw.

I still have my Eldorado Umax. That is one detector I plan to keep. I bought it about 3 years ago and recently picked up a 7" wide scan and a 12x10 wide scan coil. I have run the 7" on it for about 2 hours and had an absolute blast. I was down on my knees digging so many targets I was worn out. I have not had a chance to try the 12x10 out. I don't get out very much these days. 20 or 30 minutes here and there. I sure love my detectors I have currently though. I just plan to add either a vaquero, lobo or Tejon into the mix. I keep telling myself you can only use one detector at a time. Doesn't hurt to want though. HH
