Over the years I have tried and used numerous brands of headphones. My favorites are a couple pair of old Koss TD-81's & Rattlers....that is till now. I recently acquired a pair of Sunray Gold Pro's. These thing are night and day better than any I have used. I have tried them on my Tesoros, Fishers & Minelab Xterras...work great on every one!

Yes I ve heard they suppose to be really good.Going to get one of those Sunrays.

How many different notches of volume separation are there on the volume control knob? I just got a set of GG ultimates and I really like them, but I wish there were more segments of separation for the volume control. I think it's something like 8 diff positions. I was reading on the Killer Bee headphones, and realized that they have 41 diff notch settings. I have been setting my GG's between the 7 and 8 for a comfortable sound on the xterra, but I wish the control knob were in a notch so it wouldn't get moved if bumped. I've also changed the volume setting on the 705 to compensate, but I like to bump the volume up at times,so this becomes a bit of a hassle. Seven seems to quite and eight gets to loud over an extended period of time with the 705 volume set on 30. Seven and a quarter to seven and a half is the sweet spot for me.

I don't know that I want to purchase another expensive pair of phones just yet, but I'd like to know for future reference. Thanks for any replies!
