I have to watch myself-this hobby leads to distracted driving!

No accidents mind you but I have caught myself gazing at potential turf far too often when driving as of late. Not a good habit so I'm trying to remind myself to watch the road & pull over if I need a closer look.

I'm sure I'm not the only one...

I'm sure you're not!

With the one who must obeyed, it's a bone of contention...

If it ain't concrete, the mind processes it for potential.

Guilty as charged .:surrender:.....I looked for a couple of years for an old spot where a building was once used as a church, a community building, and an academy. Even the old timers had no idea..... driving along one day in the area keeping one eye on the road and the other eye roaming , I spied a small concrete pad in the middle of a freshly plowed tiny field that hadn't been plowed for a long time. That was the place ..... I got permission to hunt and found an 1873 seated dime and a 1908 barber quarter that looked brand new.....:bouncy:
It drives my wife crazy when I get near old places with lot's of history because I am all over the road..... foaming at the mouth ...... and wondering what goodies are crawling around in the dirt...... while she prays we don't wreck .....:yikes:

Hi bill67; Christ you sound like me.!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should see me on full moons.!!!!!!!! Seriously though if we're not carefull the headlines could read :

HEADLINES : METAL DETECTING ENTHUSIAST CAUSES ACCIDENT.!!!!

Please always be carefull when driving ok. Thanks. PEACE:RONB

Cupajo .... if I was caught gawking at young women at beach resorts I would have a head on collision for sure ....... with my wife's fist....:stretcher:

And Barker here's a headline for you ....

"Local metal detecting enthusiast gawks at wrong woman....
Slugged by wife, causes him to lose control of his car ....
car careens off road plows up long lost Pirate treasure near resort ......
Local authorities ticket detectorist and claim treasure ......

Yeah its a fatal uncurable mind disease ! no known cure. With drawl symptoms lead to death!

I agree !! When I head out to do beach detecting .... I can be so distracted that I
leave the detector in the car!
