I have never found an area that I could not hunt due to EMI...until....

Last Sunday. Man what a spot this was.

The SE is so quiet and not prone to EMI noise unlike the T2 or F75 have been. But last Sunday I hot a field that I could not go over 30 sensitivity. It would just chatter to no end. most definately EMI...most likely a transmitter close by of some kind although I could never see one.

My friends F75 fared no better...but usually they fight noise with their F75 while i just cruise along...but whatever this was....it was brutal.

Welcome to my world, Ive never been able to get my sens past 50% unless I was in the middle of the desert but I have the Cabellas model, .

Got a similar site I want to try the Bug out at. It has an electric fence and a field with minnie balls.

Hunted a late 1600's property that now has a modern house. He has a dog fence that he said he had to shut off for another detectorist as it would rive his machine nuts. I was able to run right up to it with no issues.
Electrical lines have not been an issue either.
I am sure this was a radio transmitting device....there are so many types now...not just cell towers and such. I think this was due to one of those solar powered transmitters that send data such as road conditions, weather info etc.

The cell antennas can be sneaky. A lot of them in my area are disguised as barns or sheds, and some are made to blend in with trees.
