I have a well earned reputation for losing things. As outdoor humorist once said.. If lost knifes grew into trees, he would be the Johnny Appleseed of

I have the same problem. Two years in a row I lost a hunting knife my son gave me for Christmas. I did find the last one the following spring when I was cutting brush in the woods.

Opening day I helped him load one of his deer on the cart. He ask me to pick up his gun and knife laying next to the gut pile.Several times while pulling the deer to the truck, he ask if I had his knife. Now I don't know how a large knife can fall out of a cargo pocket, unless you stand on your head, but it was not there when we got back to the truck. We retraced our tracks and couldn't find it.

I took my detector back there today.I found the area where he killed the deer and spent a hour looking and found a lead slug that might have been the one that he shot,,,, also.. a knob from my deer cart that I lost two years ago.I was on my way back and just a yard or two from the trail I swing across the path and get a hit. There it is, barley covered with some leaves.I am not sure when he got the knife,,but Beverly said he told her it had quiet a bit of sentimental value .

I haven't decided yet to tell him,, or just wait, and give it to him Christmas.
