When you are hunting in IM 16, what exactly is happening with the audio on all targets in the ground? Is there any nulling or masking at that setting or can a target be "hidden" by another trash target that has a better signal, close to a good target? Thanks.

Not sure about this but I think all targets will give a sound but the sounds will be different. I have a question about IM also. Do the settings affect depth at all? Thanks.

The code in the microprocessor has to make a decision about what to do if more than one target is detected at the same time. It can report one or the other or both with some kind of tone or tones. A target is reported and depends on the type of metal, orientation of the metal in the soil, soil minerals, angle at which the electromagnetic filed intersects the targets, so it get a little complex when it comes to more than one target at the same time.

Larger piece of iron can MASK a target when using IM-16. Masking is not hearing the presence other targets. As an example assume there is a large piece of iron and a deep silver dime. The signal is so weak from the deep time compared to the larger piece of iron that we don
