I cant make up my mind how do you guys like the F70.I am thinking of possably buying a F70 but I need some feed back.
I mainly do coins, jerlery, and small creeks, how deep can I expect to get from the F70.I have the minelab safari and it is a
bit heavy and I would like to get something a little bit liter.I was thinking of getting the F70 with the 11 inch dd,10 inch
concentric, and the 6.5 inch elliptical coil I beleive there is a package deal out there that has all three of these coils.
Please help if you dont mind.Thank you..

moose,

been using my f70 for about a week....have used many other brands/models....i really am impressed with this unit. killer on nickels, which is also where alot of gold jewelry will register. i have witnessed decent depth(5-6 in.) and that is running a fairly low sens.(45-50) as i get used to the machine.....also id's darn good at these depths....im sure opening up the power of the unit would get better depth, but for now i'm backed off. anyways, i sure am impressed....oh yea, its light, but still nicely built imo. good luck with your choices!

I've had mine for just a little over a year with the 11"dd, havn't even used the stock coil yet. It goes everywhere with me, business trips, etc. its been in the upper mountains of Idaho as well as down to the Gulf wading in the surf, and climbing the high sand, shooting through the snow in below freezing weather. I pretty much get out at least a few hours everyday, and have had NO PROBLEMS at all. It disassembles fast for travel, (3 piece shaft) is very light, likes a medium to fast swing, batterys last forever. I have had no issues with shoulder or elbow injuries, in fact, I havn't felt this good in 20 years! I think for all around hunting like you mentioned Moose, it would be great for you. You can definitely cover lots of ground quick! Its a "turn on and shoot" machine with some nice adjustable features that help with differing situations. It nails small items, kills coins. It pays for itself several times a year...would I buy it again if I had to do it over? You gosh darn skippy!
Good luck with your decision, HH

Moose I have that package and can help you. Holler if you have questions. Sent you a PM. Thanks, bart

Hey Moose I bought the same package deal about 2 weeks ago. And I love the machine. It gets better each time I go out. Still learning and having fun. I would go for it. Idid a lot of research on the F70 and that's how I found this forum. Mudpuppy has very good advice for the machine. Everyone here is very helpful with questions. Goodluck. HH. Tim

The F70 is a super unit! Right up there with the F75 & T2 with just a couple less bell & whistles. The F70 found me that sweet fugio cent on the new DVD cover, & I saw it sniff out a breast plate @ DIV 17 for my buddy....
With that selection of coils you'd be good to go in any site....
good luck,
Bill

Thanks alot to all of you who answered my questions. But what about getting coils would I be better getting the 3 coil package deal
and what coils works better on the f70.I was thinking about buying an T2 SE bacause I had heard it can get 15 inches on a coin.
How deep do you think a person could get with the f70 and I am 6' 7" tall does fisher make tall man lower shafts, are there any
video's out here where I can see the f70 detecting coin's.

Regarding videos, there was a young guy called nuggetnoggin that put up some F70 videos on youtube last year, digging coins and whatnot from old abandoned houses...try googling 'metal detecting youtube nuggetnoggin' or something like that, that will lead you into some others that were using the f70 at a swimming spot on a river, ...you will get to see all sorts of great videos from other guys as well...the 11DD coil is a must, the 5"dd sniper is something I want to try, as well as the new 15" for the beach..i'll probably never use the 10" stock unless something happens to the 11" and I need a backup until a new one arrives.
On the beach, I have found some deep coins and rings...at the depth you mention, but not on the ground, but thats probably 'cause I hunt areas that even though theres old coins there, digging a 15" deep hole would just be too impractical...got a nickle yesterday deep in the chips at a totlot, I bet was 10" Now, 6'7" eh? you will probably need a modified shaft set up, you have got to be used to that anyway being taller than average...I would think Fisher makes a longer center shaft, but am not sure of this, though it would be easy enough to do with some aluminum tube. I'm 5'10" and have the thing extended all the way out and make huge sweeps nearly 8' arcs on open ground, and even then I'm crouching. whatever you get Moose, post a picture wouldja? I want to see a tricked out sweeper that a tall guy would use. Good Luck,
Mud

I'm sure if I can get 14 inches with the Ace 250 with the 9 x 12 elliptical concentric coil.
15 inches with the F70 and the 11 inch DD shouldn't be a problem, of course I'm talkin' on dry sand.
