How well does the Silver Umax and the Gold Umax work in beach hunting
in wet or dry sand? I'm refering to Ocea wet and dry, not lake wet and dry.
Thanks

Gotta have ground balance to handle black sand deposits in the dry sand, also need it for wet salt sand.

Neither does well on the wet sand, both do very well on the dry.

I was ble to get my Golden to run fairly stable on the wet salt sand, but with great loss of sensitivity and depth.

Single frequency detectors, any brand, any model, as a rule do not perform well in wet salt sand.

You need a a dual/multi-frequency or PI detector for wet salt sand.
