I have a question for you Excal users...

Thinking about trying the excalibur this summer and was curious if any of you have to deal with drifting or falsing when you go from the wet sand to water. I've had the Beachhunter ID and thought that the Excal may behave the same. I don't have this problem with the PI Pro but I'm tired of diging hair pins and thought it might be nice to have some discrimination. Let's hear from ya!

Thanks.

You should have no problem. The BBS circuitry of the Excal eliminates the falsing issue.

Get yourself one & find some good stuff.

Hey, how is it going Horsesoldier? Yes it does false a little but,not bad. It seems to happen when waves come up on it or if the salt water is heavily churning(rough). I am here to tell you though this machine is freakin incredible! Personally, my finds have doubled. I never, ever dig hair pins and that is with my discrimination set at 0. I can't believe the depth this thing is able to reach. It picks up targets at least foot deep or deeper sometimes. I wouldn't think a second, if I had to buy one. I would despite the cost because they truly are that good. Yes,all the hype that you hear about them is for real. I know two guys that hunt with PI units and they work fine but, they dig lots of small iron, wire, and hairpins. The excaliber will detect these too but,it does not sound off, instead the threshhold goes blank letting you know a target is there; likely those items mention! Try one for yourself and you will see.
