i have a question. Are there any markings on a US Civil War belt plate that would authenticate it?

I went to an Estate sale today because they said the folks had been avid MDers. They advertized metal detectors and several boxes of od metal finds, The detectors were old and worn out and metal finds were interesting but they were someone else's finds. In another box off to the side was this belt plate

It's probably a reproduction, but maybe. There are no other markings and the back is rough like sandcast
