I have a Question about my new ID Edge. When you have Sen. at 10

Dis., don't matter in this case. I push the pinpoint button on a target that reads 15, 12, on depth, which is target down 10"+ the threshold audio in pinpoint is so loud that it interferes with the pinpointing of the target. Now on a shallow target 5 and 6"s it detunes and the threshold audio will quieten down. At first it is loud but you can detune the target but not the real deep one. Go to All metal and everything works fine. This is with the new 5.75" coil and the 8" coil, both coils do it. Do your ID Edge's do that or is it just with mine. Also does your pinpoint button have a small delay between pushes. If I push it a couple of times trying to detune the target it just reverts to regular target mode not pinpoint even with the pinpoint button pushed. If I wait a 2 sec count it pinpoints OK but with the same results as before on deep targets. Just used to my CZ Fishers I guess. If I remember right my ID Excell did the same thing with the too quick of a push on the pinpoint button. I don't remember it doing the loud Threshold audio thing on a real deep target though. Anyway just something I need to find out. :D :D  . HH Jerry aka Tinfoil

I'm not sure I fully understand your question. But, I can say you do a few things that I do not do with the Edge, so maybe that might help. First off, I don't run my Edge with sensitivity maxed out on 10 like that. Sounds like you enjoy running with some thresh noise, but 10 can be really overdriving it & may explain some of the strange audio your describing? I also never detune, as I always remembered with the C$ that often you could detune the signal right out & lose it completely. Also, it seems that on a target pushing 10" or more, your lucky to have corraled a decent signal PLUS a pinpoint signal at all, so fiddling with too much detuning on something just barely in range seems like asking for trouble. As you said, no problem with items 6" or less.....You seemed to have almost answered your own questions, as yes being more accustomed to a CZ the Excels/Edge is VERY VERY different. Just stick with it & keep experimenting.......All Fishers seem to do best with sensitivity not so high. The C$ & EDge go plenty deep on sens 8, & CZ's get max depth on sens around 5. Not sure if I helped at all, but no one else had answered the post so I thought I'd take a stab at it....
good luck,
Bill
