I have a like new Quattro on the way its coming with the stock & pro & 4.5x7 excelarator coils and also Andys mastering the Quattro book. I have read that it's a slow swinging detector which suits me fine. I have read that the processor is slow between targets on id but is up to speed in tones. Is that true cause I mainly listen to tones anyways. Let me know any tips on settings and what coils I should use for different locations. Thanks

I use sensitivity to about 13 for parks swing slow listen to high flute tones for coins and listen to low flute tones for nickels gold etc. look at your meter and learn your I'd . Learn your pinpointing good luck and be patient. The Quattro is a killer beach machine and one hell of a coin and silver machine. Good on jewelry too . Your smaller coil will be better for parks. Dig all foil and pull tab signals Your preset sensitivity will be auto. Start out with the preset programs and eventually you can go all metal mode if you really want to find all the goodies. This machine has good depth and Ids pretty well. It's slower processing only happens at parks not beaches.

Congrats, pick up a copy of The Minelab Quattro & Safari Handbook,by Andy Sabisch - either from his site -http://sabischbooks.com. or a site of your own choice. Tips on building a test garden, functions and capabilities of Quattro & Safari covered in detail. Most of us swing either unit slow anyway,so don't be discouraged with speed. As with any unit, it's best to air test coins and junk that you expect to encounter in the field and to learn their tid and audio . GL

Pinpointing can be difficult with the stock coil......i put a coiltek platypus on mine which makes it easy to pinpoint. This coil makes the machine better balanced also.

You might want to ask some of the Sponsors here at the Findsmall to give you a deal on the ML-2900 Batt Pack & Charger so you can Save Money on the AA Batteries.

It would be a Great Addition to your new Machine!

You will be able to hunt 30 hours plus on a single charge!

Best Regards

Joe
