i have a new sifter

thank u food lion and dollar store

food lion has these big fat noodles on sale for 1/2 price....................same ones i used on my snuba rig

Looks like it should work just fine!! You may have to put in a few more holes. The pan may also be unable to handle a large scoop full of sand and gravel.

Plastic can be surprisingly strong tho.

GL&HH Friend,

Sort of like mine but on a bigger scale. One area I hunt has blackmud/sand and it won't work there though. Also looks like a good safety device as well, get a paddle, lol.

i would like to try them on my sifter. we don't have food lions in our neck of the woods
i use a tube right now, its light weight and floats well but it just doesn't like anything sharp!!!
noodles look more long term, how heavy are they?

i have small holes so nothing except sand and fine particles can get through use vibra probe to find stuff in sifter.

Why do you use vibra probe? Why not to check with MD ? So easy and visible.

i use the vibraprobe to find small stuff in gravel, shells, etc. in bottom of sifter
very small post earrings, small round lead sinkers, and small pcs. of boat propeller some you can't tell they're metal even when the probe is pointing at them.
i also don't look for every target when i put it in my sifter, i only check occassionally gives me more time to scan for targets in bottom

12" sieve???

My scoop would dump a load that would sink it floats and all to the bottom!!!

Been there, done that!!!

The one I built is 191/2" in diameter on the bottom with a flare to 20" at the top (It's the flat bottom of a plastic barrel with 5" depth) and I use a 4" diameter swimming noodle to float it.

Regarding the Pin-pointer some of the stuff the Infinium finds is so small that these old tired eyes of mine can't tell it from the tiny gravel etc. left in the sifter after the sand runs out.

I don't let any target get away if I can help it. I don't want to waste time ever digging it again.

Works for me!!!

Same concept that I have with mine except I placed a bucket with holes as a sifter and glued & sealed it for waterproofing so the rest of the sifter would remain dry inside. I glued a cruiser caddy that is sold for boats ($6.00) at Walmart to hold a drink & a slot for my findings. I also have the noodle strapped to the sides:clap:. This site is incredible for information & advice:please:. Hopefully I can make it out tomorrow and have updated posting as to what treasures I have found.
