So much depends on the user, how well you learn the V3i, the settings and the ground you are hunting in. It is a major step going from a MXT to a fully programmable detector. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to learn it. The V is ready to hunt right out of the box but all of the adjustments are intimidating to some.
