I have a De Leon coming soon. I am excited by this. I had a Vaquero and a Compadre. I wanted to try a Tessoro VID. This one seems to ba a good one and I hope to be using it soon. Hope I can make some finds and have some fun, Beale.
I borrowed one for a couple of weeks, nice machine, I like the depth meter on the fly in the disc. mode. I run it side by side with my Toltec ll and was pleased at the results. Since I can borrow it anytime I want, I do not need to buy the Deleon. My wife has borrowed it too and she likes the light weight of it. In case you are wondering, the Deleon belongs to a mutual friend that has back problems and does'nt mind us taking the Deleon for an exercise once in a while. Good luck with it!
i think your going to love it one of the simplest TIDs out there and the tone as well picture silver umax with a screen but with a threshold for pinpointing watch your numbers when they lock on it's usually what is classified high 30's would be a nickel rings especially like a wedding ring seem to lock on at 41 showing nickel I H pennies lock on at 67 68 zinc high 70's bullet shells 63 to 66 brass, do some air testing to make sure yours going to be about the same every new deleon i 've bought i've always got a first and the vaquero and silver as well
I like mine. If you get a signal that bounces back and forth on the coin indications with possibly a stop or two on tabs, always dig. Many times it will turn out to be several or more coins in the same small area. Also, you'll probably find that you can get plenty of depth without having to turn the sensitivity way up.
Have fun

Hi Beale,
I've had a DeLeon for nearly six years. They are a great machine, expecially since the GB is pre-set. It will take you a while to get used to it. You get lots of info on targets from the De Leon, and you have to be patient and think about them all as you are detecting, and this takes time to get used to. You have the ID number, you have the pillars, and you have the audio ID. When any one of the three tells you to dig, Dig. I have not used mine much in the last twelve months as I have been "playing" with other machines, but I wont get rid of my DeLeon as it reminds me too much of my Silver Sabre II (which I traded on the De Leon). Happy Hunting with it...Take your time with it, be patient and you wont be sorry.
beale, good luck with the new deleon, it looks like a great machine. from what i have read about the deleon and the cortes the id is pretty accurate on them. happy hunting....

I got it last night!!! I put it together and went outside at like 16:00 hours. In my PJ's in the front yard to practice with it. I have a tin of my keeper finds. I used them for my tests. I really like it the ID seems to be right on. It air tested pretty deep. I am really looking foward to using it, Beale.
Hey Beale check out some of my older posts the D is an awesome machime to date 40 rings half of them gold lots of silver coins and over 700.00 in clad plus untold other cool things relics and such. I have had mine for 6 yrs and would not trade it for any other machine. Good luck
