i have a chance to get a whites but i wanted an opinion first due to the age of the machine..it is 10 years old dont know the model though. and it is going for 150.....good deal or should i pass?

Pass , go for current technology. JMHO HH Dennis in Idaho

I used a rainbow series XLT just till recently..I do not see much difference in the e-series...In fact it's the same...

See what model it is, and then decide....It could be a classic 1 2 3 and thats not a bad thing.....You would be amazed at how well those detectors work.

You can also get different coils for the 2 and 3 if I remember right....what if it's a Classic Id or a QXT...good machines and they work well...

Check it out and post what type it is.... They also have great discriminators on them for eliminating lots of trash every one of them

I agree with XLT user. Post what the detector is. You also didn't say if you have another detector or if this will be your only detector. I have an MXT and bought a Classic IDX for $165.00. It works great and makes a great backup detector. It is a super coin shooter in trash. Let us know what it is. Rob

the lady has it in storage and she was going to get for a yard sale. i just happened to get her number yesterday and the sale isnt till tomarrow. she forgot what kind it was but bought it off somebody else a while back for 300. i will find her number and call her tomarrow.see if she still has it.
