I hate to interrupt the "Home Photoshopping Network" but Nancy and I went detecting and found a couple goodies..:)

Nancy wanted to go hunting tonight so we got in a couple hours of detecting before dark. We found the usual bunch of clad and stuff, but I snagged the war nickle. I always like to find those things as they are a part of WWII history to me and, hey, silver.

Nancy could not be outdone and 10 minutes after I found the silver nickle she dug the sterling silver opal-looking ring. ( I don't think it is a real opal, but it looks good and it fits her.)

So a short hunt, but we both came home with silver!

might be what is called a triplet. Look at it from the side. Do you see three layers? Jewelers sandwich a thin opal slice between a domed top and flat bottom. They protect the fragile opal and keep the cost down.
