I hate the heat. Short hunt shows promise.

I had some unpredicted free time on Wednesday afternoon. I had the itch do detect and had to ease it so I took my Sovereign GT to an school yard a couple towns over. In about under an hour of wiping sweat off my machine I found two Wheaties and a girls gold ring. Kinda funny how I have been looking for gold at the water the past few hunts only to find it inland ? LOL
Shoot! I just realized that I don't remember what the dates of the Wheaties are and I am to lazy to go dig them out of the treasure chest in the basement.
Well they are Wheaties and there must be more with some silver mixed in. I will return during the better weather. I am just a sweaty Italian and I get irritable in the heat and loose focus of my threshold.
I cant wait for fall to get out full time with my Sovereign GT!

PS I see a mark on the inside of the ring but can't make it out. I lost my manacle and am blind without it LOL.
It weighs like gold but I got a funny feeling about it. I will check it out further.
take care

I hope the ring is gold, in the pic it kind of looks on the brassy side. What kind of number did in show on the machine, brass would be higher than gold. HH

nice ring , hope it is gold , and where thear is wheats the may be silver if its not 5 months of winter its two more of heat when you boil it down not much time to get out

A few more months I will be saying, " man is it cold outside" lol. I am with you Jason I don't care to much for EXCESSIVE heat. Today was bearable. I guess I can say that because I was under the trees lol. Soon as I walked out into the field, well, lets just say I didn't hang around for very long lol. I am leaning towards with what John said. (kind of Brassy looking )I don't want to end the party, I hope I am wrong (maybe its just the lighting / flash you used) and you have before you a nice gold ring! Keep at it as there is more in the ground then those two wheat cents. HH - Jim

yeah i will go with brass.
I Knew i had a funny felling. Oh well

Nice old ring regardless of what it may be........ I would have expected brass to be bit more darker than that having been in the ground for a long time, worth checking out that mark inside the ring - being old it could be gold using a copper alloy which can make it appear darker. Back in the old days some provincial jewelers used to make a right mess of the alloy mix.........

Also - can I see mounts for the stone? looks like it in the picture......

I wish you would send the heat over to England........ it is warm at the moment but I remember the last time we had a really hot summer (years ago), beaches packed - a 3 hour hunt would net at least $50.00 in coins. That's not to mention some nice rings and a $750 watch...........
