hello all, on yesterday's short hunt, i got a good signal at the base of a huge oak tree in the woods. i had found what i believe is a dropped .58 cal. civil war era bullet. only a very small edge is visible, as the large roots have grown around it completely. further, the bullet is situated so it's almost impossible to get a pic of it. i'm not about to hack up the old oak tree for a bullet; i suppose some things are better left untouched. i at least wanted to get a pic of it, but i was denied that too! can't win them all, eh? hh,

HH,

Not having seen the actual position might this not be a "job" for a battery Dremel with a cutting blade. You could be very selective on what you might need to cut. Just a thought but as you inplied, a live oak is more important.
