I HAD to go back!

Watched the surf cams throughout the day and noticed around noon the wind was shifting from the Nw to the N and then it spun to the NE...that took a bit of the top off the waves, so at 4:30 this afternoon I hit that spot I was at yesterday...stayed in it til 7:00

It was a cold rain, but I figured I would be getting wet anyway, and its a bit of a walk to the spot to warm up, so thats a plus. I hiked on out to the spot, and was sort of concerned about the size of the surf...not quite as big as yesterday, but still, not small and innocent either, not a comfortable situation...I stood there for a moment deciding whether to say 'tahellwiddit' and go back home, I'm sort of old, not super old mind you, but old enough to know better, this was one of those decisions right on the edge, could go either way,...its not gonna be pleasant...then I talked myself into it..."gold and time wait for nobody" ...I didnt get all dressed up for nothing, Im in a wetsuit, already soaked from the rain, I got a good scoop and the Pro...so...In I went!

Got 3 wheat pennys and the rest of this clad, one dime is a Canadian..that hole blew out a bit more, constantly changing...gotta be gold in here...I'm running out of year fast! Today, instead of trying to change in the portacrapper, I drove home in the wetsuit. I stopped at the gas station to buy some smokes, the gal behind the counter thought it was some sort of coccamamie bicycling outfit! I let it slide..didnt want to appear entirely crazy to tell her I was out neck deep in Lake Michigan gold hunting in this weather!.. When I got home, I changed out of the wetsuit in the garage, my wife heard me come home and opened the door to see what I was up to...I think thats the first time shes ever seen me standing naked out in the garage..What the Hell? I told her I was changing the oil on the Magnum and didnt want to get my clothes dirty. I dont want her to worry...I'm a good guy I think..

I have driven a few times in my wet suit....to save time. I just couldn't muster up the nerve to go in a store. I am a great sight too.....complete with a big black belly:wacko: Definitely not chick material.

Neat story. I guess I need to rub my Ginnie and get out the door and stop my whining. Nothing I could come up against could be as bad as what you just went through.

Way to tuff it out MUD! You know you're hooked bad when you go into a store in your wetsuit. I can't imagine what you would have told a cop if you'd been pulled over LOL.

LMAO, you crack me up, Mud! Didn't want to get your clothes dirty
Too bad you didn't get the good stuff, but I just KNOW it's going to happen soon! That's a lot of hard work you're putting in.

I can just hear your wife...My eyes, My eyes!!!

Another great post, you crack me up. I've been off the forums and social media as well for about three months. All is well here I was just taking a break, kinda seeing what it was like to disconnect. I also had some elder care issues to get a handle on and thats going okay now.
