I do great on nickels with my MXT. I dig VDI's of 18 to 20 and get all the nickels everyone else discriminates out. A solid repeatable 18 is usually a nickel lying nice and flat for me. I dig some pull tabs but not alot sticking to the above numbers.

Welcome Boxtop, and I'm still a newbie myself. I found (2) COOKED Indian Head Pennies in an old plantation-dairy farm corn field on my first outing with the MXT in Nov. 2003. Two weeks ago, I found my first Massachusettes Colonial Copper at another old colonial farm site. I'm still trying to clean it up, can't read a date yet. But, that is pretty much the norm with old copper coins here in Delaware. I'm hoping I can at least get a date on it, it was the first colonial penny authorized by Congress, according to the Coin Book. It was only minted for two yrs., 1786 & 1787; or 1787 & 1788. I can't post a picture, I don't have the capabilities or the know-how. LOL/HH, NamVetLes

Take it to a coin dealer, have it apraised. Not sure but sounds rare. Lucky guy! <img src="/metal/html/shocked.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":shock">
