Went out to the park (was military housing up into the 80's) with my 75 in tow early this morning and was looking around for places to swing over and be able to dig since we are again in near drought conditions here in W Tn, and noted a low laying stretch that had recently been mowed. Since it was a couple of feet lower then the surrounding ground, I figured I might be able to dig. Right off, I recovered 2 wheaties and a clad dime. Then, I got one of those "bell ringer" hits that read 89-90. I had had a good many of those readings before on this site as it is loaded with all types of trash from when the houses were demolished. One such reading last year, though, turned out to be a 1922 peace dollar and a 44 Walker half, in the same clod, from next to a foundation. This one sounded pretty sweet, though,...and was, a 1921 MORGAN DOLLAR. Unfortunately, this beautiful coin had tangled with one of the park lawn mowers apparently shortly after it was lost, as it has three good dings around the edge and is slightly bent. The Morgan was a mere 3" deep and was slightly on edge. Dinged up, or not, I love those big silvers. HH everyone, jim tn
