I have been looking at a place on Google Earth that has an old road
that has not been used for many years. It could be one of the oldest
roads in this part of Arkansas. I have hunted south of this area, but I
wanted to hunt this area while it is still accessible.

All I found was an old square nail and some lead, bullet casings and
so on.

Nice looking country, Tab. It was a nice day here in W. Tn. as well. Glad to see you are back out and about. HH jim tn

Good to see you back at it Tabdog, that seems like a promising site you found. Any chance of finding an old map of the area ?

Hay Bryan,

There is not much info about that area. There are a few books in the National Archives
that tell about some of the things that went on there, but I haven't found any maps. The
first community of white settlers in central Arkansas was in that area. They were just
farmers at first. Most detailed history of the area starts in the 1820's when Little Rock
was first settled. Almost every thing has been developed. It takes a lot of investigation
to get anywhere around here. I keep hacking away. Maybe I'll find some real good stuff
before too long. All I got to do is get it under my coil, and have the where with all to dig
it up.

HH,

Hi Terri,

Yaw, I'm pretty sore now. But after surveying for so long, I have to have my fix (the woods) every so often.
I have always liked to be in the woods. My body won't do what it used to, but I ain't gonna give up being in
the woods as long sa I can walk.

I just go slow and pace myself. Also I don't get too far from the car any more.

Thanks for looking at my pic's

HH,

I know what you mean, I love the woods, plus its the one place I can escape and no one
will follow me  Just try not to over do it, we all missed your posts while you were away .

Tabdog,

Congratulations on getting out and exploring. Glad you were aware of your surroundings to avoid the snakes. You sure don't need to get snake bit just to add to your health problems. It's a shame you don't have someone locally to hunt with so you have the "buddy" system if you have problems. Love the pictures. Great way to use Google to pick hunting sites. Hope you get some great finds for all your efforts.
