I got the Hankering for a new main squeeze

Being a Coinshooter at heart
I have been hunting for a few years with a CZ-5 and have tried many other machines and really have not taken the time to learn them to their full potemtial.
But on first impression I always felt they were no better than the CZ-5, since I already had it mastered to some degree. But do to an absence from the hobby caused by shoulder injury (Fully Recoverd Now), I have the hankering to try and replace the CZ with a new lighter more advanced (Feature wise) machine. I have been looking at the new First Texas Products (Fisher & Teknetics) but there is just something that bothers me about replacing a bullet proof CZ-5 with a machine made by a company that is kinda known for putting out less just say, non-bullet proof built products (Cosmetically). I have read good reviews on the Teknetics and Fisher top of the line machines but they are all prefaced by overall build quality. I want a machine that will last a long time without the worry of some cosmetic damage (Down Time).

My question is what is your gut feeling on Tesoro coming out with a kick a@@ TID machine in the near future. I don't mind waiting for a great new Tesoro TID machine.. I know the hobby has been waiting for years for an upgrade of the Deleon & Cortes. I have owned both of them and while I'm sure they are great detectors in their own right, I just didn't feel to me they were much of an improvement for me, of what I already knew and had in the CZ.
It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

But I got the new detector bug and it ain't going away until I find me a light new main squeeze
I just want a machine that I can dig an 8" Seated dime with, that is quality built with a lifetime warranty and is easy to learn and use. And light, did I mention Light

Tico,

I hear ya about the old Fishers. I have a CZ6a that I love, due to it's features of being built like a tank ( man, how many times have you heard that !), water resistant, target ID, deep, etc.

I also have a Tesoro Tejon, and with the 5.3 concentric coil, it's really balanced perfect, light, still deep, and with the dual discrimination feature, I don't miss the target ID. It's hot on brass and gold and really fun to use.

So as you know there are trade offs, but for machines that are light, easy to use, and have the best warranty in the business, you can't beat a Tesoro. I never had one of their TID machines, but if they come out with a new one that has manual GB and also has 3 tones like the CZ6a I have, I am sure I will give that one a try.
