One of my Son Rob's friends wanted us to come over and hunt his Grand parents family home. His Grandpa and Grandma have recently passed away and the old homestead is for sale. I hoped to find a cool coin or something from this place that held so many memories for Rob's pal before it was sold. I told him Anika and I would hunt it for him and he could keep whatever we found. When we got there I asked him where the old clothes line was located. It had been gone for years, but Craig knew where it used to be. Anika and I hunted around the yard for a little while looking for something good but found little. Anika headed over to where the old clothes line used to be and told me there was a lot of stuff over that way. I joined her and found some old tags and buckles among some pennies and toys. Craig was getting bored watching us and walked away for a moment when I got that sweet silver signal. Half dollar at 6 inches the XLT told me. I dug with great care and was rewarded with the sight of a silver reeded edge from the ground. I yelled at Craig to come over. You should have seen his face when I handed him that big hunk of silver!

He had never seen a silver half dollar in his life. He was so glad to have it. He now has something to hold that came from his Grandparents house where he spent so much time growing up! I told him that that coin was most likely in His Grandpa's clothes when his Grandma hung them up to dry, and fell out in the breeze. That made him smile.

A beauty indeed! I like the Walkers but the Benjamins are nice, too! Wouldn't turn one down for sure...always look nice and bright when opened to the sunlight while digging it out of the ground! May God keep on blessing you with some...and you go Anika...that was a good mention of knowing there were finds under the old clothes line area! Amen! Ma Betty
