I took the ATX for the first time this year. The water was freak'n freezing I tell you, but.....the ice Goddess rewarded me with 4 rings. I did the happy dance carefully, so not to splash water into my chest waders.

WTG on all those rings, John. I got out on land for the second time in a month and found 10 pennies including a 1952 wheat and 1 dime & 1 quarter. Thought the dime was silver, but alas it was 1965. Sure got my hopes up. No rings for me this year, but I'm hoping they will show up one of these days.

Seen your YouTube vid with the gold religious necklace it was nice. Do you find you have better luck out in the water ? On the wet sand or what? Thanks

Makes sense because most chains are probably heavier. What does the gold normally Ring up for you 40s-60s? Thanks my first hunt in general will be on the beach Sunday after a big thunderstorm.

40's to 60's.....even read as penny, depending on the % of gold vs. what the gold is amalgamated with. As a rule of thumb, the higher the "K", the lower it will read.
