I got out today for an hour or so with my new X-Terra 505...

The new machine arrived on Friday but I had a CME seminar for the last 3 days over the weekend. The weather was beautiful on Friday of course but cold and rainy for SAT/SUN. I went out this afternoon braving some drizzle and mid 30's temps up to a local winery I've hit hard with CZ's, Explorers, and X-Terras 50/70. The ground was like muck since it was so wet but I was still digging some deep wheats, bank advertising token, and some clad in an area I never hunted that hard/throughly. I still say the 50/505 locks on the best, super easy pinpoint, with rapid recovery even in the iron with minimal falsing....very little junk unless I just wanted to see what it was for the heck of it. I've hunted after CZ's here and pulled alot of deep wheats with the X-Terra 50 especially. I could run at 16-20 sensitivity. mostly 20 today...ground balanced around 9 or so. I did some airtesting this evening-this machine will hit a clad dime, zincoln, copper lincoln and nickel at about 12 inches with proper ID, a quarter at about 13 but the tones are very faint. I can run the machine inside the house at 20 sens. too so I know it's a good one...it came directly from Minelab when ordering through the dealer. I got permission again this weekend from one of my former students to hunt his 150 + year old farmhouse site "anytime" since they're not living there and his folks place after I finish his that's really old and cool(it had a Greek Revival period outhouse at one time)...I've been there once...what an awesome house and site! I'll keep you posted :)

Sounds like you are of to a great start.
