Was in the 50's today and sunny...what a change since last weeks 30 below zero wind chills....didn't get much actually nothing really exciting...just gave me a chance to get out with the New Excal 1000 and give her yet my 3rd spin with this beauty...learning the tones will take me a while but I think I've got the pull tabs down pretty good...but didn't someone say pull tabs sound just like gold rings? Any way I for see a long love affair with my Excal!! Now I can't wait till its warm enough to dancing in the water with her.

Where were ya huntin' fer that loot Pete? Were ya in the water? Good stuff there! Yes, some pull-tabs will sound very much like some gold rings and must be dug. That foil sounds pretty righteous too! Need to dig everything that is not ferrous for a LONG time, till you learn to recognize the tones and even then you may get fooled. I've been using the Excal for a year in January and I still dig everything, but a null or real large targets like iron plate. Keep hammerin'! If you have not ordered cjc's Excal book, get a copy on order. Great resource for the Excal. You'll learn some great tricks with the unit.

grill starter, or cigarette lighter. The thing that you push and makes a spark to light the gas. Go ahead and squeeze the top down, you should get a good shock if thats what it is. They're fun to shock people with. HH
