I Got Nitroed, BIG TIME!

I decided to hit the wet and dry this evening ona minus tide. I picked up a good amount of clad, some bits and bobs and the sweetest Nitro! Broke My Heart. It's had me going for a while as it was already dark when I found it but after cleaning I can see that it is .925 and my diamond tester say simulants so it's not diamonds, maybe moisanette but probably CZ. Time to get a better tester.

I was swinging the ACE250 today, just for old times sake.

If I drop the sensitivity to 3 or 4 bars it will work in 2 feet of saltwater, no problems at all in the wet sand. An amazing little guy, this Yeller Feller! I had the sensitivity cranked up to full and in All Metal Mode when I found the ring about 8 inches deep in the dry sand. Super lightweight detector that packs enough punch when you just want to have a little fun and see what comes. This wasn't my usual hunt, no casing out the beach, no fine tuning the Excal 1000 and no dealing with the chill from being in the water with just a wetsuit. I had fun, I found a silver ring with pretty, sparkly bits in it and I did it all in an hour. Tomorrow, I'll be HUNTING! We''ll see what comes.
People really underestimate the ACE250 but you can find some nice stuff with it, if you know how to use it.

It's fun, no matter how you cut it! It's a pretty ring anyways.

We've all had that experience at some time or other. One day last year I was hunting a beach with my brother and first thing, I popped a about a 1 k solitaire! My heart skipped a beat until I cleaned it to see the .925 on the inside. If that wasn't enough, on the other side, inside the band, as small as you can read there was a little deflating word: Avon Maybe tomorrow.

There may be more excitement attached to this ring yet, John. My Princess has taken a shine to the way this Nitro sparkles and is wearing it today. She'll be riding the ferry into work with the friend who pulled up sick with the flu and couldn't make it out for his first ever hunt with me this weekend. I wish I could be there to see his eyes pop out at what he Thinks he missed out on.:crylol:
It's not the real deal but I can still have fun with it.:biggrin:

You just gotta keep putting the coil over the sand. With each swipe the odds of discovery of some nice loot, work in your favor.

She'll have bunches of fun with that ring. I'd like to see the look on your buddy's face when he sees that ring!!

I really like gettin your reports from paradise. Keep up the good work. Fair winds to ya.
