I Got My Golden uMax Today

It's the older tone version with the round grill. I think I'm going to really like it. I did a little testing with it to see if it would do what I mainly wanted it to do. Notch out modern pull tabs without notching out nickles also. Those modern pull tabs give me fits in some parks. On my Fisher Gold Bug Pro the nickel's ID number is 57-58 and the modern pull tab's ID number is 59. So you see it's an amazing accomplishment that the Golden can notch out modern pull tabs and still let you hear the nickel's beep loud and clear.

I read somewhere that most of the gold rings that are lost are small lady's rings and they mostly come in around the foil and nickel range.

I figure with the Golden I can coin and silver shoot and still have a shot at some small gold rings.

Any pointers and suggestions are welcome and are surely needed.

I've got some reading and learning to do.:)

your gonna love it :clapping:
learn its language & it will reward you big
congrats

Congrats on the Golden! But are you sure you want to discriminate out the pull tabs? I have been digging all foil and pull tabs signals since I got my Tejon & Vaquero. When I had VDI Detectors I got lazy and would just pass them on by. I have to say my gold count has gone up !

Many do well with them so time for some experimenting on setting for your style of hunting..

Too many notches and tones for me and felt was overkill after the Golden Sabre 11 and felt the best was the Pantera where one could ground balance...

Understand Tesoro is now revising this unit with a different setup because of feedback from the consumer...

I save all pull tabs and donate them to "Mcdonalds Home" for care of sick children and their parents. Pull Tabs are pure aluminum and worth more per pound then cans. "Just my two pull tabs"

I know what you're saying, BUT sometimes you get in a location that is just loaded up with pull tabs and screw caps that digging everyone is just not realistic. These locations are usually around picnic areas and sports field bleacher areas where alcohol beverages are allowed. Out on most sports fields there are less pull tabs and screw caps to contend with, so I dig everything as if it's gold. Flipping a switch on the Golden lets me hear or not hear pull tabs and screw caps. Some areas that I hunt are pretty bad and are loaded up with thrash. Silence is golden sometimes.:)

I have always liked the looks of the older Tesoro's with the round grill. I bet you are going to have alot of fun with the Golden. Steve.

I guess I am coming from the mind set. I am retired and a lot of trash means I just keep coming back until I clean it up. Gives:detecting: me something to do!
