I Got My Euro Version AT Pro Today....Here's Some Initial Test Results. If You Like Gold Rings, You Are Going To Like It :cam: :cheekkiss:

I got home from work, and there was a note by the mailbox that a parcel had arrived. I had to go pay some duty and brokerage charges, then went home to put it together. Man...is it ever light. The box almost felt empty. It went together basically like my ACE 150 & ACE 250. But....you must exercise caution when attaching those headsets. The water proof connector is like the Infinium and Sea hunter, which all have two tiny copper pins which must lined up to the female connector on the housing. DO NOT BEND them, as they may brake off if you have to straighten them up again.

It was -15C/5F outside, so I did some air tests in the house. I built a cardboard box over a plastic laundry bin, & tested it to make sure that there wasn't any metal around to affect my results. I only used the coin mode, as I have issues with ground balancing a detector in air. Nonetheless, the results were simply amazing. This machine is soooooo sensitive to gold. And....it gets fantastic depth on rings, either gold or silver.

Below is a histogram I quickly put together using my results on the 6 targets I tested. The Euro AT Pro is calibrated in metric (cm) and I am quite comfortable with either.

Thanks for the test. Can't wait to see how it performs in the field, I hope it does as good as the air tests when you take it out for a spin.
HAPPY HUNTING
Stan.

very impressive results. and nice graph.

WHY IS THERE AN INTERNATIONAL VERSION ?

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE FROM THE USA MODEL ?

They just opened up the scale around the Nickel area I believe (as compared to an opened upper range like the US version). Here in Germany (and Europe I believe) many coins hit in the Nickel range and it's a bit tight to have a US scale. I have an Omega, and almost 70% of the coins I dig come in at Nickel (57 - 61). Having a broader scale there would be helpful for discrimination purposes (visual).

The Euro version has calibrations in centimeters and the US model is in inches. I'm not sure if it's tweaked for iron for the UK.

I was watching one of the ATPro ads and they said the European models were identical except for a slight change in frequency. The reason was that most european coins have a different signature than the US coins. Onus

Well all i can say the AT Pro test for the USA one ....Does not give a good showing like the international one you got john.

I did mine in coin mode, at 7/8 bars and moved my targets across the coil faster then he did.I believe the two (euro & US Model) are similar, with one being in cm & the other in inches.

OK, I'll duplicate John's test to see what I can come up with! John, can you PM me everything about your setup? Also include anything like electrical fields, etc. That's a pretty big battle in my house with computers and TV's all over the place! LOL.. In fact, I never COULD air test my Infinium in the house at all! Our targets will be a bit different but I have my large gold ring and a large silver ring I haven't tried.

John. Thanks for going out of your way to test the AT-Pro and posting the results. What would be the reason why you purchased the Euro version??? There must be more diffrences than just the display showing cm vs the USA inches. Tube videos show European tuned detectors to be deeper, but maybe its just diffrent dirt/targets. What is the price diffrence between the AT-Pro Euro and USA version??

It sure looks like there is a big difference in the US & Euro models.

The Infinium excels in Saltwater but has little or no discrimination .....The AT Pro has problems in Saltwater , but has plenty of discrimination ....Jim

HI Synthnut,
I have an Infinium and think it is an exceptional detector. I see the use for a AT Pro for coinshooting. To
be more specific I was wondering about the differences in wet beach sand, such as which is deeper.
