Now I gotta figure out how to use it !Spent last 2 days, reading all the books/video that came with it.Want to learn this hobby right, and not just run out in the yard with it.Besides, they forgot to send my coil cover,so I figured I'd just wait.(Man that's hard to do!!)Only 1 week before we go to Jensen Beach,Florida for a week.Hopefully they haven't passed any new stupid rules to keep me from using it.Was curious if anybody ever hunted this area with a CZ-20,and if so,any tips as to setup?Glad to finally be part of the club, not just a voyeur.I have learned alot from all of you the last few months. Thanks to all for all your help!!Hope to have anything to show ya'll when I get back, even if it's all pulltabs.:pulltab:

P.S. has anybody ever taken their detector by plane? It's a hard lockup case, does airport security mess with it since it will be checked as baggage? Thanks Again To All !:detecting:

No sweat! I take my machines everywhere I go when traveling the big blue. Most of the time my hard case gets checked and one of those "I opened it up slips" from the TSA is usually inside. Have been resorting to soft case carry aboard bag most recently because I'm always nervous that some airport dude will think he needs my Excal more than me. Takes some time to tear down and put back together but I feel better having it in hand. Cut a couple of inches of my SS scoop so it fits better inside my golf bag and it travels well. Get lots of laughs when TSA checks my clubs and finds my new "sand wedge". Boy do you get funny looks when all that electronics goes thru the security machine.
Also recently put a lock on the hard case (didn't initially) and about 50% of the time I'm asked to take it off for a check. Good luck!

[attachment 7850 THCodger.gif]You're primed, you're ready, you've studied the book and are now ready for the test. Well, after you get out there and turn it on, I am willing to bet that it will be a humbling experience.

You are a newbie and still have a lot to learn. Don't give up! It will be great fun and will get better. On the other hand, you may be lucky like my wife and find a beautiful necklace and gold mounted aqua marine and possible small diamond ON HER FIRST TIME OUT!

Came up to me and announced that I guess that if I want any diamonds I'll have to get them myself.

On the other hand, it definitely has gotten her interested in metal detecting. :)

I am still looking forward to be able to hunt a beach with an experienced beach hunter to give me some hints and show me what to look for. Even when you learn the detector, you still have to know how to read a beach and to know where and how to hunt for the best finds.

Almost every time I return from a beach hunting trip I read something on this forum and think to myself, "Jeeze, I wish I had done that when I was there."

I hope you find something that absolutely knocks your socks off.

I'm am looking to find ANYTHING other than trash.See all the great posts, bet they didn't find it all.Now besides having to learn the CZ-20,I hafta get a crash course on a Garrett GTI-1500,a friend loaned(never told me he had it)so I can get it set up for my wife.A LOT more controls than the CZ.Another friend is loaning an old,old Jetco Huntmaster for my stepdaughter(he never told me he had one either)At least it only has 1 control other than volume.Doesn't appear very sensitive, but she's 12,and will probably drag G'ma up and down the dry with it,LOL.Thanks for your support.
