Nice 1 Steve! I would say sapphire though, as opposed to emerald. Did you hunt for the chain? Any weak or blippy signals around the area?
 
No chain but I did look for it. I was using the whites XLT and I don't know if you have one but weak blimpy signals is not something you hear. It's configured to hear everything and the sounds it makes are very distinctive in relation to the metal. Although, smail gold chains are seriously difficult to get a reading on unless your using a PI.
