I Got Big Silver :wiggle:

Got permission for a yard here in town on the south of the railway tracks, of all the years I've hunted in town I've never hunted south of the tracks. About a fourth of the houses in town are south of the tracks, but just never hunted there. Not that Burden is a big town, about 500 folks in town. From the looks of things I may want to hunt there more often. Hunted the yard for about 2 1/2 hours. I'm sure going back tomorrow! Got a 8x6 sef coil ordered, this yard would be a great one to try it out in, didn't have a treshhold hum much at all in any of the yard it is so trashed. By the way, the half dollar came in as a solid fe2co47, never bounced at all and was about 7" down. So what they say is true, in the preset coin program you can miss the big silver cause the upper right hand corner is blanked out. I was running Andy's coin program except I had the lowwer part of the screen blanked out up to 24 because of all the nail falsing.

Here's a pic of all my finds with the etrac since I got it in March most of the silver dime came from the fair grounds here, that I have pounded to death with about ever other make and brand of detector know to man. Everytime I bring home a silver from there found with the etrac, my wife says "not bad from a hunted out park".

Nice finds!
Should get my 8x6 this coming week and look forward to testing it.Private yards are hard to beat nowadays if a person has the nerve to ask permission,Ray.
PS. Don't be posting to many great finds or I will have to take a road trip out your way:detecting::rofl:

Another that is on the wish list..great finds Ken-ks.

Really nice finds, and a particular congratulations for having the nerve to ask permission! Regarding permission, it's funny how hard that can be for some of us. I think if you're rather shy like me, you go through the age of young innocence when permission is easy. Then you go through the age when you feel you appear more "threatening" and you often avoid knocking on doors for awhile. Now I'm entering the non-threatening "dottering old fool" age when permission becomes easy again!

LOL that's a good one, that my be where I'm at too, at the "dottering old foo age". My best way for getting permission in town it doing something to help someone out. Small town, everyone knows me...I mow a yard, cut some brush for someone, or some other thing, don't pay me, let me detect your yard, works like a charm...my time is cheap, if I wasn't doing something for someone to get permission I'd probably be in front of the puter or tv, so it's time better spent. Private yards are about the only good hunting around here, the park/fairgrounds are pounded to death...by your's truely and others, same way with parks and old school yards in surrounding towns. A new detector or coil gets me back out into some of the trashiers areas in some of the parks, you never get it all so something a little different may be the ticket for some missed goodies....I have a 8x6 coil coming this week, so I have several yards and spots at the park that are trashed to go over trying it out.
