hello all. my old buddy pete and myself went back to a millet field we've been hunting on and off for a while now. a half hour into the hunt, i got a strong hit,and flipped a clod over to find this very nice coat sized virginia button. it has the horstmann & allien backmark with rays [prewar] and a straight up shank. it's dark green, very tight and solid, and shows gold in some places. i couldn't believe it! i did my best rebel yell and got pete to come over to the spot and look around. it's my second virginia button in five days. i'm still happy!
i also dug up a thick brass wedding band, a couple pieces of melt, a three ringer, a pewter flat button, and a piece of small iron canister. an earlier hunt at my parent's house turned up an old baptist sunday school badge, a 1940 nickel, and a lady bug button. it's been a real good week for me.
i still can't believe my luck. i thank ya'll for looking and reading. hh!
