Took my waders today and got back in the Big Lake. Fired up the Pro on the sand and hit a penny right away, dropped down into the water in a nice little cut and hit this big tungsten ring, had not been hunting 5 minutes, picked up a few clad stragglers along the way. The sun came up and in front of me I saw that nickel laying on the bottom in 3' of water so I knew I was in a decent blowout since its all tarnished, got this ladybug clock type of thing a few feet later. I also took off the top camlock so I can break down the shaft assembly and run a cleaning rod through it and wipe off the lower rod before heading home...this West Mi sand up here was prized by iron foundries for some of the best natural casting sand in the world...suffice it to say it is very fine and will find its way into any kind of shaft or camlock set up and jam it good...I noticed after just a few short hours it was getting hard to move that lower shaft again...so I guess I'll make a daily habit of running a rod through it after each use. It sure is nice to adjust shaft length on the fly easily as a fellow traverses from deep water to the dry.
