I just got it today in the mail so I decided to try it out right away in the sand ( and i have yet to buy a shovel or gloves DX) I set the discrimination very low for me to get used to it and I found a couple screws, a twistie tie and a couple pennies. So all in all I am quite satisfied having done this for only a few minutes. Can't wait to do more hunting!!!!!!!!!!!

Man that's great! Metal detecting is really fun and habit forming.

That's all metal. Good for tot lots. I never turn mine up above min. disc. in discriminate mode for other areas. Better watch it or you'll be paying for that thing in no time.

Congrats! You're going to love it. I love mine! I got mine for a killer deal and have added a coil cover and rain cover to it. HH!

Congratulations on getting your Silver

You got yourself a fine machine. I have and use one myself. Learn where your discriminator kicks various objects out, such a can slaw and pull tabs. When I normally hunt I run the discriminator below foil but when I hit a target I "thumb" the discriminator knob upward to see where it kicks it out. I know exactly where nickles and pennies get discriminated out. This helps me determine what the target is before digging. BTW dimes and quarters can not be discriminated out. Another trick I use is to pass the coil over the target while slowly raising the coil upward. This helps me check the depth of the target.

Good luck and happy hunting.
