I found silver but don't know where

I went to my car last night to retrieve coins from my pouch that have acccumulated over the last few hunts so I could put them in the tumbler. I had hunted a nearby elementary school, my local park, and my old house around the corner where I grew up. I was sorting the recent drops from the coins that needed to be tumbled when I noticed that one of the dimes looked a little different. I looked at it closely and noticed that it was a 1964 D Roosevelt Dime. I guess I thought it was a clad dime because it was so clean and shiny. I don't have a clue when I found it or where but I will take it !!!

Kind of like finding silver in your loose change. A very nice surprise.

May we all have this problem! That's a nice surprise.

Lol, I can honestly save I have never mistaken silver for clad

Me 2 Terry, lol. I've found a few rosies in the wood chips before and still didn't mistake them for clad.

Wow !! two perfect people on the same forum !!!

Congrats

What A great Surprise:clapping:

I cannot tell you how many times I thought I had a Rosey and instead had a Clad Dime

I need reading glasses now.....and as such prefer to see a Merc or Barber, etc..just easier

Silver is Silver and any Silver Find is Great!

Funny i just found a 1959D Rosey and I knew it was Silver and the Husband first thought it was not(he wears glasses and reads my Rosey dates)
and I said yes it is! looked at the rim and there was no copper line and he had not seen the date right but corrected his conclusion:)

I also recently found some pieces of a bracelet and thought they might be Silver but they needed to be washed and then Shiny and marked Sterling Silver:thumbup:

Welcome and HH

Wouldn't be the first time I have mistaken a silver sixpence for a 5c coin over here.

I do however keep a spread sheet and record all my finds at the end of each day. I also mark on google earth where and when I find coins as a visual record.

COOL

A inspiration I hope I can manage to do and follow

never said I was perfect, I just stated the facts I have never mistaken silver for clad, even dirty silver looks different from clad.....not trying to make you feel bad at all. Don't get all excited over something that I said, you must have misunderstood my comment
