I recently found a coin in pretty bad shape with the date warn were i could tell it was from the 1700s but not an exact date but some key features on the coin gave me clues to what it was. Its a Great Britain, George II, Farthing, 1749 .

I wonder if i could find any more.... would be nice

:usaflag:So I'm assuming that the coin in the picture is'nt the one that you found? Pretty solid date on that one..

Where are you writing from Moixe?
If you cleaned that coin and it looks as though you have you
may have knocked it DOWN in value.

I've found a few of those back east.:wiggle:They are very worn as well. Those coins were legal tender in the colonies before the revolution and even in The States for many years afterwards.
Very nice find indeed!:thumbup:Congrats!:cheers:Thanks for sharing!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

well i don't know how to get pictures up here but the coin was found in wiscasset Maine on the waterfront in tilled land its great since the town was founded after the coins date
