Had a little time to swing it today, so headed to the high school. It is only about 2 minutes away and always yields something. Everything from CW items to rings have turned up there over the years. It is one of my favorite impromptu spots.

Here's the pouch dump:

You can see that this dude aint' afraid of no penny, either. That's 21 of them suckers, enough to cover inflation losses on THREE dollars. Hey, I'm beating the Federal Reserve at this rate!
You'll see a "South Carolina Band Directors Association" pendant down in front, and a faux US Cuff Button... :bouncy:

Hey bud,

looks like you dug a few holes today heh heh. Hey you never found any WW2 stuff around there like maybe german?? There was supposed to be a prisoner of war camp near the school. There's a marker for it on laurens near the old folks home around the corner. I imagine it covered a pretty big area. Just wondering if you ever turned up anything much from that time period around the school. Man your hard core lots a lot of trash to weed through! Hope to see ya over in augusta this winter!

According to my research, the POW camp was where the old folks home is now, on back to where the Dept. of Safety does their fire training.
To date, I have never found anything around there that I can tie to the camp. I have tried the woods behind the retirement home and on the Laurens street side. 'Found nuttin' but modern trash. Across the road in the vacant lot, where the old Price house was, I did find a US greatcoat button, but that was a one off find.
Besides, the German POW's would have been re-uniformed and left with nothing to lose by the time they got here. The guards, on the other hand, well... that might be a different story.

But, there are some other places around there that might give up a few things, that I've learned about. We'll see.

And you'll see me in AUG, for sure!
