As all of you know, my posts lean toward the long side. I am going to try and shorten this one up although I'd like to talk about this hunt all night. My day off turned into three short hunts in between thunderstorms. The final hunt was in new territory and after a particularly bad storm. They were just clearing a tree that had been blown down across the road as I arrived at my destination. All the low areas of the field were flooded. I weaved my way around the puddles and got very few hits. When I got a hit slightly above pop top at 3 inches my heart skipped a beat. Ring territory. When the ring in photo 2 came out of the ground my initial reaction was disappointment. It had a sizing thing on it and the "gold" on it was flaking off. I removed the sizer in the field and rinsed it off in a puddle and saw 14K! YIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! My first 14k man's ring! See how nice it fits my thumb? Actually it's loose even on my thumb! I am tickled about the large size. I gave it another rinse and looked at the initials. CW. Who do I know with those initials? Wait a minute. Those are my initials! Nobody probably remembers, but I was looking for a new job over the Winter and was turned down partly because I don't speak Spanish. That day I went out hunting and found a medallion that said "With God all things are possible." God was speaking to me and I believe he spoke to me through this ring. I think I know what he was saying but I'll keep that to myself. Thanks God for a great day.

The ring weighs 9.36 grams and tests positive for 14k gold. $155.57 at todays gold price which finally brings the total of all the loot I've found with my 2500 to over what I paid for it. A nice milestone to reach. It took 8 months and that is with 3 months (less 4 nice days in January) off over the Winter. Maybe I'll keep just this one piece of jewelry and wear it..................on my big toe!
What is the square thing in pic 3? It has initials engraved on it. It looks like the wheel from a lighter but I don't see a lighter. It is heavy!
Please note the fake 925 pendant photo 3. Copper is showing through.
You know this post is still too long. Screw it I like writing long posts. The 9 car might be Kasey Kahne but I prefer to think it's Bill Elliot. I found it during the first 2 hours of hunting and during which time I used only the sniper coil. I call that a West Virginia style hunt except I didn't break open my coil afterward. I am not equipped to fix it myself and would have to order a new one or send it to John! The weight of the 2500 with the Scorcher is great at but in a big field it is murder. Still found a boatload of coins, though. 51 pennies with one wheat too.
