I found bronze

tabdog

New member
This morning I got up and snuck out of the
House. The boys are out of school today
for some reason. I know it

Tabdog all the different do-dads u find r so neat .Is your compadre todays model What size coil u run

I was looking at silver u does it have any edge over compadre. When i look at compadre

It looks to simple but i know its not WAITING FOR SPRING !!!! Good luck

PS were would u use one over the other thanks

Hay Gmanlight,

Mine is a little older. It has the 7" coil. Don't know about the 5.75", but they say it's better.

I love my Silver Sabre uMax. I love my Euro also. But I started using the Compadre about

a month ago. Every time I try to use the Silver or the Euro, I just keep thinking what the

Compadre would do. At that point I will get the Compadre. I don't go anywhere without it.

I can't stop using it.

The Silver has better depth and is a real park hound, I can not say enough good things

about my Silver. But nothing does what my Compadre will do.

I put this pic of Speedy Gonzolas on my coil with clear laquer. It's on there now. I can wash

it and everything. It won't come off. The other pic is just taped on.

HH,

Way to go Td. I'm more exited than ever about getting a Compadre. It's listed on Amazon for 161$. One problem and that is I'm going in the hospital next month to have my knee replacement replaced. After that and some therapy I'll be ready to go.

Thanks again for your advice ,

Man that's rough.

I've had knee surgery. Nothing like a knee replacement.

Both my knees are bad. I do more bending than squatting,

and I almost never kneel.

Good luck with your surgery.

HH,

Give it a try..you will not believe it. Just turn the disc down so it picks up the nails

That's part of what makes this machine so great.

Pin points on a dime.

Seperates targets better than anything.

I was finding targets that were on edge and against a steel reinforced concrete slab.
I was dumbfounded. I am still wooffing over that. I have used all of my detectors along
that same slab and it was tough to say the least. It seemed to be almost easy with
the Compadre.

El, you know me as good as any one on the forum. Do you think that it is the
Compadre that's doing so well, or is it just me?

I'm really not sure. Am I right when I tell people how good this machine is?

I would hate to mis-lead people. Everyone feals their machine is the best when
It's bringing home the goodies.

Could you give me your honest openion, which I respect very much?

HH,

The 5.75 does just swell - just have to have the right area and the area I hit today wasn't productive.
The area I been eyeballing for awhile so I decided to try it today - looked good but not productive. Nearly void of signals - unusual.
Oh well - at least I know what's there - or what's not there.
A bad day of detecting is better than a day of no detecting is better than a day at work.

I can honestly recommend the great little Compadre to anyone.
In the metdet world it's a real "sleeper". It's speed and
separation abilities are second to none, especially at its
price of $151 at some online dealers! I've also found mine to
have surprising depth with the 5.75 coil too!
..W

I always passed up the Compadre in the past because it looked like they forgot the switches, knobs and buttons. Naw, the other Tesoro's just caught my interest more. Well after seeing posts here and there on it, I figured I might as well add another Tesoro .
What could be simple, effective, able to swing all day and won't break the bank - :tesoro:
I'm still impressed at what this sleeper can do for the price point.
And the warranty is tops (although I have never had to return a machine for a fault yet).

For starters the compadre is an awsome inexpensive detector. It's fast recovery, very respectable depth, and it likes jewelry as most tesoro units do.
Then there is the (Tabdog) factor..Your a very dedicated detectorist, you put the time required to learn the ins,and ,outs of all your machines, you like the machines you use ( half the battle) and you learn every little tweak that can be done for best results. You very rarely get discouraged even on bad days(NO FINDS) you go back, and seek out a better area till you find the hot spots..Very rare, most hunt a sight, find nothing, and leave it forever..You rework it, and make it produce..very commendable my friend. You are an enthusiastic detectorist. You make people want to join in the hobby, and you are fast to share your knowledge as you gain more and more experience..So a very, very, good part is you..in the hands of someone like you a detector can do it's best work..but only if the person using it understands it. You are that rare person who learns, utilizes what they learn, and turns it into a good experience and good finds.. and yes the detector is a good one..Would it be as good a result in someone Else's hands, maybe, maybe not...They would have the means, but maybe not the steadfast ability you demonstrate.

Thank you El.

That makes me feal better about what I've been telling people.

I need to keep in mind that people may not get the same results,
and if they are green it may take a long time to realize just how
good the Compadre really is.

That was a wonderful compliment. It means so much because this
this hobby means so much to me.

You are a truely accomplished detectorist. A compliment like that
inspires me.

Thanks,

i will easily second that, elton, tabdog is certainly a steadfast fellow in our hobby, and a good ambassador to boot. much can be learned from him, as i have myself in the past. just an all around good fellow. td, when i need a good laugh, theres a few of your posts that i go to. thanks.

Thanks Gray Ghost,

This is almost embarrasing.

I admire your knowledge and obvious

skills as a detectorist.

Coming from you that is a warm and charished

compliment.

I am, like a lot of other retired guys, lucky enough to hunt

about two out of every three days, or more when the weather permitts.

I have a lot of days that all I get is the enjoyment I get from this

wondeful hobby. It's great that we have these forums to share our

enjoyment,,

Happy Hunting,
