I found an Irish 'calladagh' ring.

I stopped by a grade school for a short time MD'ing on my way home. The wood chips were very clean, not even foil. The grass held the loot.
I found this 'calladagh' ring. It is made in Ireland and is 925. It is often used as a wedding ring. In a nutshell the meaning of the Claddagh ring could be summarized as, Let Love and Friendship Reign Forever.

I have no idea what the other symbols mean.

A round magnet, clad and kiddie jewelry. This has been the site of a school since the turn of the century. Maybe that is why I also found a 1937 wheat.

I started off my trip looking at this log house. It has been burned out for a while, but I saw people around it today. I stop to ask the owner if I could MD it. They weren't the owners. They bought the log house and were taking it apart to move it to a new location. They said it is over 200 years old. It is only three miles from my place. I am going to try to get with the owner tomorrow.
200 yr. old log house+ minus the forest+ mowed lawn= lots of fun!!!
I better get to huntin'; huntin' season is still open here in West Virgin'y.

Nice ring, John! I hope the old log cabin place is good to you, it's going to be turning colder in the next couple of days!

Those are the kinds of places that keep a guy up at night wondering what these could give up at that location. You got some nice jewelry at that other place. A great hunt in my books

I was next door last Oct. asking about this place. That guy gave me permission to MD a log cabin on top of his hill that was moved away like this one. I went back and he was too busy to take me to it. He said come back some other time. I got busy with all the demo-ed houses and never got back.
I have a big CW encampment 10 miles from my place. I got into the archives at Cornell University and I have been reading the actual telegrams from that time between the Generals. Being from here I know all the places the Generals were talking about. I want to use my GPS and mark all my finds. It might help in understanding the lay out of the CW camp. Yes, I am having trouble sleeping at night. I need a relic type detector that will go deep.
