The grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence... so I hopped the fence. In the picture below, I am standing in part of the bull pasture. The land is sloping downhill, but it doesn't look like it in the photo, and just in front of those tall trees in the background is a creek with some nice flat land around it.

When I got down to the creek and the flat area, I hit this Civil War bullet. I started circling out from that, and started picking up pieces of equipment such as belt attachments and pack strap studs. Actually it was quite a few little targets in a very small area, and plenty more to dig. My biggest pest in this area besides shotgun shells, was .22 caliber brass. I must have chased half a dozen of them around wasting time. They sound like they were in the ground, but in reality they were just under the thatch or very shallow. But because of their small size, they fooled me into thinking they were 5 or 6" deep. They always came in with a VDI number somewhere around 10, give or take a few, so I stopped messing with them.

This is a belt stud. It even has some leather attached. I found two like this, but one broke apart in my hand.

I found several of these equipment studs, identified them in my Civil War book. They're made of copper.

Uh oh, my arm support broke. This the second arm support I've wore out. It breaks from the constant flexing of swinging the detector left and right. Swinging that big coil puts a little more pressure on it also. I learned pretty fast you cannot swing a DFX or XLT without a forearm arm support. Oh well, I had to go anyway. But this place looks promising. I believe it was either a one night encampment, or where it shows the 2nd Corpse moved through on my Civil War map.

This is my finds for the day, minus all the shotgun shells, modern bullets and other junk. I don't know what the thing is with the threads on it, but its got those big coarse Civil War threads that I've seen many times before. So for now, I am counting it as a relic of some sort. I don't think the wrench is a CW item. I hope to be going back there Friday or Saturday with my repaired DFX, so I won't be listing to the starboard.
