I found a couple of COOL things in the cornfield today

I was MD'ing in the cornfield/1 room school house for a few hours this afternoon and found a trigger guard from a New York's Hudson Valley Fowler's black powder rifle 1725-1750. WOW, now how did that get there. I hope I can find the rest of that gun.

The other cool find was a 1820's Great coat Button. Here is a link so that you can get a better look at the button. Scroll down to the last one.

I see that I'm not the only one on this forum to find one of these buttons, but I can post the link, WTG Randy

I'm starting to wonder if their wasn't an old farm house in this field before their was a school house there.

And My other finds for the day. " 2 " V nickels, 1887, 1903, " 3 " IH's, 1880, 1903, " 7 " wheat's and a flat button and on the back it has Superior Orange Colour.

Congrats on the sweet finds! I really like seeing the old stuff! The button is very cool, as is the gun part! Nice work, Beale.

Isn't it amazing how many things you can find around some of those old country school houses? I've had some that produced coins and other interesting items, like you are finding. And then there are those than are just plain empty! If we keep finding stuff, maybe in a generation or two, folks around your neck of the woods and mine will think they are all empty! :beers: Nice finds. HH Randy
